Summary
This study aimed to evaluate the interactions between the elastic arteries and the left ventricle during normal pregnancy and preeclampsia using ultrasound techniques. The results showed that significant cardiac and carotid artery remodeling occurred in both preeclamptic women and normal pregnant controls. Carotid remodeling was found to persist postpartum.
The study suggests that left ventricular-carotid coupling remained similar in both groups. Further research with larger populations is needed to confirm these findings.
