ABBREVIATED BREAST MRI FOR SUPPLEMENTAL SCREENING IN PATIENTS WITH DENSE BREASTS: COMPARISON OF BASELINE VERSUS SUBSEQUENT-ROUND EXAMINATIONS

The study compared outcomes between baseline and subsequent rounds of abbreviated breast MRI (AB-MRI) screenings in individuals with dense breasts. It found that subsequent screenings had a lower abnormal interpretation rate (AIR) but maintained a high cancer detection rate (CDR). All detected cancers were early-stage and node-negative. These results support the effectiveness of sequential AB-MRI screenings for detecting early-stage breast cancer in individuals with dense breasts.
