ASSOCIATION BETWEEN MR ELASTOGRAPHY LIVER STIFFNESS AND HISTOLOGIC LIVER FIBROSIS IN CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH AUTOIMMUNE LIVER DISEASE

No results found.

A study evaluated the effectiveness of MR elastography (MRE) in assessing liver fibrosis in children and young adults with autoimmune liver disease (AILD). The study included 46 patients who underwent both MRE and liver biopsy. MRE liver stiffness showed a strong positive correlation with histologic liver fibrosis (ρ = 0.68). For identifying advanced fibrosis, MRE had an AUC of 0.81, with 65.4% sensitivity and 90.0% specificity, outperforming biochemical markers APRI and FIB-4. The findings suggest that MRE is a reliable noninvasive tool for monitoring liver fibrosis severity in AILD patients.
