CONTRAST-ENHANCED ULTRASOUND (CEUS): ONE STEP FORWARD IN THE IDENTIFICATION OF “HIGH RISK” SOLITARY FIBROTIC TUMORS OF THE LIVER

A 62-year-old patient with an indeterminate liver lesion underwent various imaging techniques, including Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS), which helped identify the lesion as a solitary fibrous tumor of the liver (SFTL). CEUS clarified the lesion’s malignant potential and origin, which was initially suspected to be cholangiocarcinoma. Due to the risk of seeding with a biopsy, the patient proceeded directly to surgery, where SFTL was confirmed through histopathology.
