SPOTTING PSA EARLY: NEW ULTRASOUND MEASURES IN DEVELOPMENT

Summary

The ultrasound steering committee of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) presented an update at the 2022 annual meeting, focusing on efforts to facilitate the early diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis (PsA). The update included information on the ongoing Diagnostic Ultrasound Enthesitis Tool (DUET) study, providing preliminary reliability results for ultrasound (US) detection of enthesitis elementary lesions.

The committee discussed common pitfalls in US scanning and introduced new projects aimed at expanding the application of the US beyond large entheses. Additionally, there are initiatives to validate small point-of-care US probes for the assessment of enthesitis. This update highlights ongoing efforts within GRAPPA to advance the use of ultrasound in the early diagnosis of PsA.
