This study evaluated the combined use of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) and High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) in patients with localized prostate cancer and prostate sizes greater than 60 grams. Among 100 patients, those receiving the combined treatment showed lower PSA levels but similar oncological outcomes compared to HIFU monotherapy. The combination resulted in higher initial incontinence rates but did not significantly impact urinary symptoms over time. The findings suggest this approach may safely expand HIFU’s therapeutic use for larger prostates.
