LONG-TERM OUTCOME OF ULTRASOUND-GUIDED FOCUSED

Summary

This case report presents a patient with gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) in the cesarean scar, which is typically treated with hysterectomy or lesion resection due to its chemoresistant nature and risk of bleeding. However, in this case, a 32-year-old woman with low-risk GTN opted for a non-invasive approach using ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to preserve her uterus and fertility.

The treatment was successful, leading to the ablation of the uterine lesion and the resumption of the menstrual cycle. HIFU treatment reduced the number of chemotherapy cycles, and the patient remained free from recurrence during the follow-up period, highlighting the potential of HIFU as an alternative for cesarean scar GTN patients.
