Encourage breathing techniques: 

For certain scans, such as an abdominal ultrasound, patients are instructed to breathe slowly, and deeply, and hold their breath if necessary. Breathing techniques help reduce motion artifacts and improve the user experience. 

Check-in and breaks: 

Check-in with the patient periodically to ensure their comfort. Ask about discomfort or pain and offer short breaks if the exam is long. Encouraging the patient to communicate their needs increases confidence and comfort. 

Selection and monitoring of patients: 

Allow the patient to control the experience. Ask if they want a specific sensor or if they need to adjust the comfort level. These small choices can empower a patient and contribute to their well-being. 

Empathy and reassurance:
