GE HealthCare announced its agreement to acquire Intelligent Ultrasound Group PLC’s clinical AI software business for $51 million, enhancing its AI-enabled ultrasound technology. This acquisition aims to integrate Intelligent Ultrasound’s real-time image recognition tools into GE’s ultrasound devices, improving OBGYN scan accuracy and efficiency. The deal supports GE HealthCare’s precision care strategy and follows its 2023 acquisition of Caption Health. The transaction, expected to close in Q4 2024, will also bring in Intelligent Ultrasound’s R&D experts to further advance AI innovations in medical imaging.
