PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS DIAGNOSIS: NEW ULTRASOUND INDEX IN THE WORKS

Summary

This article summarizes the discussions and presentations from the 2021 Annual Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) meeting’s ultrasound workshop.

The workshop covered three main topics: (1) the progress on the Diagnostic Ultrasound Enthesitis Tool (DUET) project; (2) the sonographic evaluation of joints in Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) as part of a GRAPPA joint project; and (3) the examination of extrasynovial lesions in PsA. The ultrasound group’s objective is to develop feasible and practical sonographic tools for the early diagnosis of PsA that can be incorporated into standard care.

The discussions around these topics are expected to guide the group’s efforts in creating a composite index for the early diagnosis of PsA.
