Summary
This systematic review explores recent trends in the utility and applicability of ultrasound in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The study examines geographic and specialty-specific patterns of ultrasound use, innovative applications, research findings, and the development of associated educational and training programs in LMICs. A total of 4,563 studies were included for final review, with nearly 70% originating from Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
The findings highlight the growing utilization of ultrasound in LMICs and emphasize the need for further research and educational initiatives in these resource-constrained settings.
