Summary

The study found that contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is an accurate method for grading renal artery stenosis (RAS). CEUS has a sensitivity of 88.9%, specificity of 87.8%, accuracy of 88.5%, positive predictive value of 93.5%, and negative predictive value of 80.0%.

CEUS is also more accurate than Doppler ultrasound (DUS) in grading RAS. The kappa value for CEUS is 0.749, which is considered to be in good agreement with DSA. Based on these findings, the authors conclude that CEUS is an accurate and reliable method for grading RAS.

They recommend that CEUS be used as the first-line imaging modality for diagnosing RAS.
